Music
The Music Committee is a dedicated group that develops policy about the music program, participates in fundraising and outreach, and supports the Music Director. We meet once every two months.

The Chalice Singers: Our church choir is open to all those who wish to sing in a group that regularly enhances Sunday worship services with their music ministry. The ability to read music is not required. The Chalice Singers is a dedicated group who love to bring their voices together to support our interconnected web in a wide variety of musical styles, origins, cultures and arrangements. Committment to this enjoyable community provides many opportunities for enriched musical learning and growth, from our varied warm-ups in rehearsals to the well-executed consonants in our finished presentations. Come harmonize with us! The choir also contributes to other church gatherings, such as the annual coffeehouse (described below), and community events such as World Religions Day. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Please contact Deborah, the Music Director, at 463-0988 or vocation62@yahoo.ca regarding the choir or The UU Family Singers described below.

The UU Family Singers: Music lovers from toddlers to seniors are welcome and encouraged to join with the Chalice Singers for occasional Sunday morning presentations at special times. Typically the group rehearses prior to the specific Sunday service. The music is accessible and easy for the occasional participant. It is a great opportunity to share in musical community. Find music details in the monthly newsletter for both The UU Family Singers and The Chalice Singers.

The Afterchoir: This is our energetic “alternative music” group who have fun playing and singing music with a “spiritual” message from virtually every musical genre including rock, folk, jazz, & R&B. The Afterchoir meets approximately weekly at times convenient for its members. If you would like to join or test drive the group, please contact James at jamesmorris@morrisbureau.com or 876-5098.
Coffeehouse: An enjoyable February winter warm-up in an old-fashioned coffeehouse style, with candlelight on the tables, an open mic, and good vibes all around. Most performers are members and friends, but invitations are extended to the community and everyone is welcome. We offer a broad range of contributions, including singing, poetry, instrumental numbers, humour, and drama.
