SUMMARY:Humanist Discussion
DESCRIPTION:The Humanist Group will resume meeting on the third Sunday of the month as usual. We will meet in the worship room on October 20\, 15 minutes after the end of the morning service. Initially\, we will settle on a topic (topics?) for the coming church year. Study a book? Consider humanist morality in an AI world? Study one topic for the year or a different subject every month? Multiple possibilities. A lively discussion may lead to a workable consensus. \nAll are welcome to join in and have their say. The discussions never end\, but we wind these down by 1 pm.

SUMMARY:Annual Congregational Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Members and friends of our faith community are invited to our Annual Retreat for a congregational conversation about making our UUCH dreams come true.\nCome early for breakfast\, stay after for a potluck lunch. \nLast year\, you identified your three top priorities for your next minister: \n• Offer challenging and inspiring services.\n• Actively care for the welfare of all members.\n• Grow the community and raise the UU profile  in Halifax.\n\nAt our Sept 14th retreat we’ll discuss ways of putting this vision into action. I’ll bring some ideas based on conversations I’ve had in my first weeks with you\, and we’ll discuss your ideas too. The goal is an action plan that is owned by all of us. Let’s make our dreams come true.\nLove\,\nBen

SUMMARY:Pride Parade
DESCRIPTION:Would you like to take part in the biggest expression of love and joy that Halifax will see this summer? \nWalk or ride in the Pride Parade! \nWe have a long history of supporting Halifax’s LBGTQ+ community dating back to 1973 when we offered our building as a free meeting place. In order to have as large a presence as we have had in previous years\, we need people who can walk the route\, and someone who can drive a second vehicle. As of this writing we have one small orange car. \nWe also need a group of creative people to decorate said vehicle(s) at 1:00 at UUCH on Friday\, July 19th. It’s so much fun! \nVolunteers please contact pam_griffin-hody@carleton.ca
