Stepping into Action – Second Gathering

June is here, bringing sunshine, warmth, and the early signs of summer. We hope you’ll join us on June 30 from 5:30–7:00 p.m. as we gather again in community. We come together with food and provide childcare once a month to connect, engage in reflective practice and work on collective action. Let us know if you have dietary needs or would like childcare. Feel welcome to bring a friend and check it out.

Since our last gathering, we’ve reflected on what worked well and what we’d like to build on:

• We’ll continue to offer food, childcare, and an early evening gathering time.
• We’ll introduce a brief reflective care practice before moving into action and discussion.
• We’ll make space for concrete action, beginning with a food security learning and action journey, while remaining open to other ideas and interests. You’re also welcome to simply come and connect.

We’ve also connected with some leads of other UU Social Responsibility Groups to receive their wisdom and bridge to their work. People are supportive of this monthly gathering, in particular, actions that connect with and build fellowship around Mi’kmaq Peace and Friendship are encouraged. We will bring actions for you to consider engaging in around the other committees in case something resonates.

• Can you make it?
• Would you like to take a role in making food (we keep it simple, two pots of something at least one vegetarian, a starch and maybe a simple sweet)?
• Do you need childcare?
• Is there a reflective practice or action you want to share with the group (for this or future gatherings)
